Colectivo Tercerunquinto
Artist collective formed by Julio Castro, born in 1976, Gabriel Cazares born in 1978 and Rolando Flores born in 1975. All live and work in Monterrey and Mexico.
Tercerunquinto has developed a body of work on city planning in the frontier between public and private space. By introducing simple signs and gestures – the construction of a concrete slab, the displacement of a piece of asphalt to the verge of a road , a grass border encroaching on parking lot, the three artists question public space as a place of possibilities. Through their actions, they return to the users their status of active participants with power of decision over their own environment. For What Comes, the invitation extended to the collective involves its working on the area in Rennes called the Blosne. The area is involved in an important project of urban relabelling and this transformation is accompanied and set in prospect by a pilot structure initiated by the City of Rennes, called l'Atelier urbain, whose aim is to put the citizen back at the heart of prospective thinking about their living environment.
