Born in Croatia, Renata Poljak sources the raw materials for her artistic creation from her background. Firstly painting and now video, are her preferred techniques. For What Comes, she will present The Crisis/La Crise, a playful and poetic vision of situations of dispair – unemployment, for example – faced with which we sometimes return to superstitious practises : plucking petals from flowers or reading the coffee dregs…With a hypnotic sound track alternating voices, chants and instruments, Renata Poljak films the symbols of our impotence faced with the uncertainty of the future, with humour.
