Thierry Boutonnier

Born in 1980, in Castres. Lives and works in Lyon.

Thierry Boutonnier works on the border between art and commerce and exhibits in places not dedicated to art. This approach allows him to denounce – through mimicry or by action – the behaviour and contradictions of our capitalist way of life.  His work takes many forms just like the areas he explores : performance, video, sculpture, photography, diagrams, publications. For That which comes, Thierry Boutonnier is presenting a vending machine whose normal function has been modified to distribute fresh eggs. The visitor has only one possible alternative : buy an egg and see it fall and break.
